AUCKLAND WHEELSTARZ JUNIOR BASKETBALL

Established in 2013, the Auckland WheelStarz is New Zealand’s pioneer Junior Wheelchair Basketball club. We offer regular trainings and competition (February to September) to meet the physical and social needs of young people ages 10-23 years with physical disabilities.

We are Auckland based and invite interested players from all over the Auckland area.  Our club works closely with the Auckland WheelBreakers, Auckland's only adult wheelchair basketball club, to provide a pathway for our young athletes to play at a more senior level.

While most of our players have a physical disability we do welcome those without disabilities to join our club.  Please note that players with disabilities do not need to be regular wheelchair users to play.

Basketball Wheelchairs are provided and we offer high quality coaching from a former National Junior Wheelchair Basketball coach.
