Wheelchair Rugby League: Wheel Kiwis in Action

We’re thrilled to share the highlights from the recent series between the New Zealand Wheel Kiwis and Australia’s Wheelaroos, a ground-breaking event in wheelchair rugby league.

The two-match series took place at Auckland’s Eventfinda Stadium on November 1 and November 4. I had the incredible opportunity to be part of this event as an assistant coach for the Wheel Kiwis. This was the first-ever trans-Tasman series for our team, and both sides displayed determination and passion. While the Wheelaroos ultimately claimed victory, our Wheel Kiwis put up an incredible fight, making it a memorable experience for players, coaches.

It was an amazing experience participating in such a historic event, and we’re here at Disability Sport Auckland are looking forward to the future growth in Wheelchair Rugby League here in Auckland.
