2021 Parafed Auckland Volunteer of the Year Award Finalists

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Parafed Auckland, and celebrating our volunteer superstars is always a highlight of our year! Congratulations to our 2021 volunteer of the year finalists, Jan Apel, Matt Piggin, and Rebecca Sleeman!

Jan Apel

Jan has been an integral part of Parafed Auckland Shooting Club right from the beginning. Not only does she take new shooters under her wing, but manages to physically look after the range regardless of her limited abilities. She keeps our range clean and safe and welcomes each shooter to the range in a warm and friendly manner.

Matt Piggin

Matt has a heart of gold, is true example of what a volunteer is, and always gives 120% to the people he works with during the Parafed Strength & Conditioning North sessions. Matt is a huge asset to the North crew and helping with the running of that programme!

Rebecca Sleeman

Rebecca has been a huge to support to Parafed Auckland during the Boccia South sessions. She attends every week and brings along new ways to keep our members engaged. She has helped teach Parafed Auckland staff more about Boccia and made sure we have the resources needed when starting up Boccia out west.
