Barney Koneferenisi

After a semi last minute call to the Wheel Blacks squad, Barney gave 110% to his team the second he knew he was going to Tokyo. He trained hard in the lead up to the games and was a standout performer during every match.

Hayden Barton-Cootes

Hayden is a long-standing member of the Wheel Blacks and a solid leader in the team. He leads the Haka at the beginning of every game and provides the passion and determination that leaders need. He has supported his team mates in the learning of the Haka and worked strongly as a member of the team on the court. Hayden is strong and has the right amount of grit required for the sport!

Tupou Neiufi

Tupou displayed amazing sportsmanship before, during and after the Paralympics. She was open and honest during the lead up to the Paralympics, and shared her journey with others via social media. She remained humbled during her time at the Paralympics and won NZ's first gold medal of the games. She continues to strive for greatness.
