International Day of Persons with Disabilities

International Day of Persons with Disabilities is a day to celebrate the achievements and contributions of people living with disability and increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance, and help everyone become more compassionate to the challenges faced by people living with disabilities. This year’s theme is “Fighting for rights in the post-COVID era".

At Parafed Auckland we recognise that people who live with disabilities are among the most affected populations amid the COVID pandemic, and we are proud to stand at their side.

Ensuring disabled people have equal opportunity to engage in physical activity during Auckland’s lockdown has been an important focus at Parafed Auckland, and our Partnership with Functional Adaptive Movement during this time has been a huge hit with our members to keep them active.

To celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities Parafed Auckland stands proudly behind the government guidelines and welcome the new Ministry for Disabled People, and will continue to advocate and support all disabled Aucklanders.
