Road towards the fern: Charli Gardiner-Hall

At Parafed Auckland, we’re dedicated to supporting our members and athletes to achieve their sporting goals and have a go at different activities to keep fit and healthy. But it’s not about us, it’s about you!

Today, we’d love to share Charli Gardiner-Hall’s experience at the Halberg Games and her journey with Parafed Auckland.

Charli has fully enjoyed participating at the Halberg Games in the past because it has given her the opportunity to try out different sports, meet new people and learn about their disabilities, stories, and experiences. This year she is excited to compete in athletics, swimming, and rowing competitions. She is determined to win as many events as she can and improve her timings this year.

Charli is training hard for the Halberg Games which is scheduled for April 2021. She’s been training 4 days a week and trying her best to improve her swimming and athletics timings. For the past couple of months, Charli has been competing at several National Athletics Competitions like the Colgate Games and setting record timings. Charli says “Parafed Auckland has helped me train through zoom sessions in spite of the restrictions with lockdowns during the pandemic”

Charli is really excited, but a bit nervous too for the 2021 Halberg Games. In spite of her recent seizure in the pool while training, she is more determined to compete and achieve her goals.

Parafed Auckland wishes Charli all the best and support for the 2021 Halberg Games.
